Wanggai Sees Red as Titans Hold Selangor in Kuala Terengganu

T-Team Titans Patrich Wanggai went from hero to zero during his team 1-1 draw against Selangor at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu last night.

The Indonesian forward had levelled the score in the 80th minute after they have been trailing since Thamil Arasu put The Red Giants ahead in the 15th minute.

However he reacted to a provocation by Thamil Arasu as the match entered stoppage time and earned himself a red card.

The draw did not do both teams any good as it looked more like two points lost rather than one point gained.

A win would have seen Mehmet Durakovic's men taking over the lead at the top of Super League. The draw meant they only moved up above Terengganu into second place behind Pahang.

For The Titans they failed to further their distance from the relegation zone and now had played one more match than the rest of the teams.

It was The Titans' weakness in dealing with set pieces that led to Matias Conti scoring the first goal and it was the same story when Zesh Rehman added the second a minute before time.

Selangor welcomed back Paulo Rangel to their frontline and the Brazillian brought immediate impact by scoring the only goal of the match against Perak in Ipoh.

Defending champions, Lions XII also recorded an away win, this time at Selayang Municipal Stadium when they overcame home side, Sime Darby FC.

Second half strike by Mohamad Safuwan seven minutes after the restart and another one from Khairul Amri ten minutes later were enough to gave Fandi Ahmad's chargers all three points.

Meanwhile in Kota Bahru, Mohamad Shawky's goal on the hour mark was enough to give the home side, Kelantan all three points in their encounter with the Armed Forces (ATM).
