It was an emotional scene at Seonhak Hockey Stadium after the final buzzer sounded, ending the match between Malaysia and India.
The score was 6-1 in favour of the Indians but the Malaysian girls gave their all during the match.
With a place in the last four if they managed to pull off the necessary result against India, Malaysia were shocked early in the match as India broke the deadlock just after four minutes.
They fell further behind five minutes later and by the second quarter ended the score was 4-0.
India made it five without reply in the third quarter but Malaysia managed to pull one back through skipper Nadia Abdul Rahman.
However India scored another field goal to finish the match 6-1 and booked their place in the last four.
They will face South Korea while the Malaysian girls must pick themselves up for the 5th and 6th position classification match against Kazakhstan.
